William Atkins-1810 Laurens SC?

Looking for some help with this one. Do any of you know anything about William Atkins (spelled Adkins in the 1810 census)? He is listed as 26 to 44 with wife 26-44. One son 10-15, and three sons under 10. The only William Atkins in 1800 Laurens is also 26-44 with a wife the same age group; a son and daughter each between 10 and 15, and three sons and three daughters under 10. So, apparently the 1800 William is not the same as the one listed in 1810. The only William in 1820 Laurens does not have common neighbors with the one in 1810.

Men and women in these census periods could be in the same category in two successive census enumerations because the range of 26-44 could cover two, but the children should be "upgraded" to the next category from 1800 to 1810 for example.

At this point I am not looking for his ancestors, but his descendants. If I can find them I will be able to consider whether he is an ancestor of mine.

thank you, Ed Crump
