I have looked through my copy of Larry Athy's book, but I don't see any obvious connection to the lines he presents. Robert Athy, Jr., moved to Bourbon Co, KY ca 1786 and would be about the right age to be father of Betsey, but I do not see any John that would fit. Do you know where your John was born or when?
