Hi Robin,

My grandmother gave me a book called "Geneaology of the Athey Family in America 1642-1932" written by Dr. CE Athey from Marietta, Ohio in 1932.

It contained the information going back to Capt. George Athey but yours in more in depth. It also has a family crest with the motto "Ductus non Coactus" meaning May be led; Not to be Driven.

Is that the same crest you have?

After I have a change to compile my notes from the holidays, I would love to compare and get more information.

I go back to Ireland frequently due to work--but did not know until this Christmas that the family had any ties to Ireland.
