Austin Athey is individual 598 in Larry Athey's book. His parents are given as William and Zillah (also other given names listed) (Douglas) Athey. He m. Sarah Jane McATTEE, d.o. Hiram and Sarah Jane Custer McATTEE. Austin died of fever at Pt. of Rocks, VA, 11 Feb 1865. He is buried in Hopewell Cemetery near Richmond. 2 unnamed children are listed. A number of siblings and aunts and uncles with families are reported in the book.
