I am Clarence's sister and saw your response to him.

Thomas and Jabez are family names in the Cornelius Atherton branch. I don't have all my records with me at work but the elder Cornelius, b 1736 and a DAR Patriot, had a son Jabez who was killed at the Wyoming Massacre in 1778 in Luzerne Co PA. If my memory serves me right, one of Cornelius' other sons had a son Jabez who would be about the age. I will try to check out the info at home as soon as I can.
