I have had many correspondences with Stephen Atherton Hadley up until his death on Jan 21 of this year. We shared much information regarding our common ancestors. I am a Lee descendent of William Henry Lee who served in Capt.Daniel Cresap's company of the Maryland Militia 1778-1789 with Aaron, Benjamin, John and Joshua Atherton.(in some records the name is mispelled as Eatherington). William Lee came to Kentucky with the Atherton brothers and their families around 1780 and two of William Henry Lee's sons married two of Aaron Ahterton's daughters, one in Kentucky and the other after some of the Athertons and Lees went to Ohio. My William Henry Lee was married first to Margaret Atherton whith whom he had eight children. Stephen Hadley and I both believe Margaret was a sister to Benjamin, Aaron, John and Josiah. Would appreciate any information to verify this and will be glad to share information I have on the Atherton brothers. They all lived in the same area of Kentucky and the two families intermarried frequently along with Taylors and others. My email address is frankly@nctimes.net
