Tom, This is what I have on Jabez ATHERTON:
Cornelius ATHERTON (1736-1809) and Mary DELANO (1739?-1793?) had a son John ATHERTON (1760-18 Apr 1841) who married Mary FULKERSON. They lived in Luzerne Co PA where John was a blacksmith, "owning 233 acres of land". I believe John is buried at Fory Fort Cemetery if I recall correctly. One of their children was Jabez, was listed on the Tax Roll in Providence Township, Luzerne Co, in 1809 as "a single man", and "removed in 1812" according to the "Michael Shoemaker Book".
Unfortunately, there is no other information about Jabez in any of the materials I have. You might try contacting the Wyoming Historical Society which is where I obtained my information.
