Thanks for looking this up; I have the 1830 records for Kanada, Moses and Howard; and have been convinced for sometime that Kanady is the same as Canada Atherton 1840 and 1850 in Hickman then in Ballard Ky.
In addition, I have traced these families through the census all the way. T.C. Atherton, son of Canada and Ellender Atherton lives near her in the 1870 census of Ballard, married with wife Sarah, no children. Julie Magee's book of Brave Boys of Ballard listed T.C. and his cousins and brother as being in the Civil War, as well as the fact that Sarah and he had a baby girl. The girl must have died some time later, as she never shows up with either of them again. I believe Sarah most likely died when their son was born 1871 and this may have been when girl died; I do not find Sarah Atherton and T.C. again in census of KY; C. Atherton shows up in Alcorn Miss. with new wife Maranda, his son and her son, and a daughter they had togethere in 1977 Miss. Through much of my research, I have seen many don't actually know for sure where they were born, especially when they live near another state. The son of C. Atherton is listed as born in TN, but C. Atherton says he and his parents born KY; the wife may have given information instead of C. Atherton. I have corresponded with you and with Jim Williams about my connection; as far as I know, there is no way to absolutely prove this is the right person, but T.C. Atherton 1846 age corresponds with C. Atherton in Alcorn Miss 1880, or very near. And this is the last time he appeared in a census, as he died in Texas about 1899; although I did get a picture of them from relatives at an Atherton reunion of C. Atherton's descendants.
