I confirmed with my mother. WmCharles Atherton was my father's grandfather and Sarah Duncan Atherton was his grandmother. There were 4 sons the eldest aged 12 when WC died. The family story goes that the elder children, all in their 20's settled a sum with their stepmother and took the family business. There was some bitterness passed on towards these relatives. I am just curious. My father left and moved to Texas in the 40's. His siblings are all in GA, Fla and their children are also in those states. My siblings are in TX, except 1, who is in San Francisco. Please respond with where you fit into the picture. There was a Lucius Atherton in Atlanta GA, also a descendant of WC from his 1st marriage. he may be deceased now. I understand his descendants are still there.
