I don't have any information on Grant Atherton's parents but I did find him and Harriett on the 1930 census:
Year: 1930; Census Place: New Castle, Westchester, New York; Roll: 1663; Page: 18A; Enumeration District: 283; The census indicates he was born in Virginia about 1885 and both parents were born in Virginia. My grandfather had a brother named Grant S. Atherton but he was born in WV in 1869 and married someone named "Marian." Hope this helps.
