I'm looking for a C. Atherton born abt 1845. He stated on Census of 1880 that he was born KY (I find children don't always know where they were born in my research.) I have had no luck in find him.
All I know about my C. Atherton is that he was born abt 1845 had a son Edgar A. Atherton born abt 1869 TN. The first time I find him is when he married Marinda Honnell Webb, A widow with a son Oscar Webb. They md. abt 1877 and had more children together. They were in Grayson Cnty, TX in late 1880's. Marinda died 1887/1888 while they lived on the Gunter Ranch. C. Atherton moved to another farm after her death and the death of another child. He sent his two daughters to live with 2 different families in Grayson Cnty, TX and later brought his two younger sons to Dallas, Cnty, TX: my grandfather, Julian Franklin Atherton born 1882 Miss and Eula H. Atherton born 1887/1888 Grayson Cnty,TX. C. Atherton died while living near and perhaps working at the Miller Plantation in South Dallas between 1894/1900 (can't locate death record).
