I sent some family pictures of the Atherton's Edgar's descendant in Greenville, TX; as well as to his son. I talked to the older man in Greenville and he said he would try to get some information about the other Atherton's around Hunt Co. (we talked about Calvin Atherton who arrived about the same time as my C. Atherton went to Gunter, Grayson Co., TX; however, he never got back to me; after I sent him and his son research and pictures.
Curious: Do your Atherton's appear to have red hair? Edgar had very dark hair and was very handsome, his father C. Atherton appears to be red headed (but in the black and white picture it is difficult to tell if it is red or black (I had the same problem when I was young and black and white pictures were still popular (my hair always looked very dark instead of red). Julian Atherton definitely had very red arburn hair, my G Grandfather; however, it may have come from his mother (C. Atherton's second wife).
