Hi Lucy, Your posting may be just what I have been searching for. I have a Howard Atherton, born 23 Jul 1811/14. He was a minister in the MMB Church. Married Sara A. Haws 20 Dec 1830. Died 17 Oct. 1887, Ballard, Carlisle Co., Ky. He and Sara Had 9 Children. James E., N. P., Francis M., William C., Martin Howard, Hulda A., Sara G., Mariah J., and Nancy P. My problem is that I can not get confirmation of his father. I have as a possible a Moses Atherton, B. abt. 1778, Married 13 May 1830 in Hickman Co. Ky. Moses' father was Caleb Atherton, B 1 April 1794, Shipensburg, Cumnberland Co. Pa. Married Matilda Ross, 1 Feb 1816 in Cunmberland Co, Ky. Died 15 May 1878 Aberdeen Oh, or Mason Co. Ky. Caleb was in the war of 1812. Burried Charter Oak Cemetary, Aberdeen. Oh, 1823. He was a 33 degree Mason. The Father of Caleb Was Thomas who married Margaret Gibson. No other information on Thomas. I am very interested in Confirming Howard Athertons Father. I hope you can help. Don Atherton
