Deborah, I just posted a reply to your first message, and just saw this one. Yes, the John Ates family lived in that area, I know of Marked Tree and Lepanto as definite places John and Nancy lived at. I've tracked them to the cemetery where they were buried, unmarked graves, and obtained their death certificates. My family did not know when Nancy died, but was aware they moved further south from Cape Girardeau County, MO, to eventually, Arkansas. Again, Nancy [Kasinger] Ates was my great aunt.
