I thought maybe the following documentation might be of interest to researchers of Adam Ater and his family. According to this record, Adam Ader never made it to Lexington KY. Virginia Perry
Adam is the second Husband of Elizabeth Kitterman.
John Ader a descendant of Adam Ader wrote that Adam was born in Maryland, lived there during the Revolutionary War, then moved to Pot Lick (now Roanoke) Virginia, and in 1813 moved to Stokes County, N.C., near the Moravian school at Old Salem, now a part of Winston-Salem.
I have found no record to show Adam Ader ever lived in Roanoke, Va. He bought and sold land in Franklin Co. Va. His father-in-law let him buy the home place on Chestnut Creek if he could pay for it in 3 years, after the death of Christina, Adam's mother-in-law.
Adam bought the following pieces of land while a resident of Franklin Co. Va.
March 6, 1797 bought 135 Acres on Waters of Chestnut and Stoney Run Creek .April 8, 1800 bought 201 Acres on Waters of Chestnut and Stony Run
Feb.4, 1811 bought the home place set aside for him in Christopher's will.
Records of Rowan Co. N. C. show that Adam Ader bought land there Sept. 24, 1811.
Peter Ader was administrator of Adam's estate. Mention is made of 350 acres, 1/8 given to widow Mary Evans Ader sold to Mr. Cecil of Franklin County, Va.
Deed to Adam Ader, Franklin Co. Va. 318 acres for $933.00 from Francis Williams. Recorded Aug. 2, 1812.
Adam Ader was also married twice. After the death of Elizabeth Kitterman Ader, he married Anna Maria Evans. He had three children by Anna.
The Friedberg Church Register gives the baptism of one daughter Sarah Margaret, born Nov. 21, 1826. The father is spoken of as a farmer and a neighbor, but was evidently not a member of the Moravian Church. Adam was 65 years old when he married Anna.

Sept. 27. On request I rode to Mr. Ader (Eder) and preached a funeral sermon in the presence of a congregation composed of women, for the funeral of the infant son of William and Catherina (maiden name Boeckel) Weaver. The burial was held in Mr. Eder's graveyard.
(Report for Sept.) : Baptized in the home of A. Ader:
Benjamin, son of Adam and Anna Maria (maiden name Evans) Ader.
Mary Ann, daughter of Henry and Anna (maiden name Fletcher) Weaver.
At Hope, Mary Ann Elizabeth, daughter of Jacob and Anna Frey.
According to Moravian Church Archive Records, several persons, in addition to Aders, were buried in the Ader Cemetery. The minister of the Moravian Church received word of Adam's death on Feb. 4, 1838. He, and the ministers of the Dutch Reformed and Methodist Churches, preached the funeral on Feb. 5, 1838, at Adam's home.

To the Worshipful, the Justice of the Court of Pleas and Quarter Session, Feb. Term 1857
We the undersigned Commissioners appointed by the Court of Pleas and Quarter Session of said County having been duly sworn , preceded on the fifth day of January 1857 to divide and make partition between and among the heirs and tenants in a matter of the lands to them, as children and heirs at Law of Adam Ader, deceased. Whereupon we have made and do hereby make the following appropriations among the respective claimants in severalty.
Lot No. 1 to John Tesh containing 80 3/4 acres, valued at $ 265.00
Lot No. 2 to Samuel Tesh containing121 acres, valued at $ 265.00
Lot No. 3 to Cecil and Flora Ader containing 67 1/4 acres valued at $ 250.00
Lot No. 4 & 8 to Richard I. Cecil containing 145 acres valued at $ 970.00
We further charge the more valuable dividend with such sums of money as will make those of inferior value equal in valuation, that is to say Lot No. 1 assigned to John Tesh pays to Lot No. 4 an 8 Richard I. Cecil forty six dollars and 25 cents. No. 2 assigned to Samuel Tesh pays No. 4 and 8 forty six dollars and 25 cents. Lot No. 3 to Cecil and Flora Anna Ader pays No. 4 and 8 thirty one dollars and 25 cents. All of which was respectively submitted under our hands and seals the 8th. day of January 1857.

State of North Carolina-To the Court at Davidson County -----------!
You are hereby commanded to summon Samuel Tesh personally to be and appear before the Justice of our next court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions to be held for the Court of Davidson at the Courthouse in Lexington on the second monday in November next then and there to plead ----- or ------- to the petition of Elder Ader and others against Samuel Tesh and John Tesh and wife. A copy of which accomplices this suppeona, otherwise judgment for ---------- will be taken and the petition heard extra as to him, Herein fail not and have then and there this writ.

Davidson County Court-February Term 1857
The Commissioners appointed at last term of this court to divide the lands specified in the petition having filed there report during the present term and the division made by them appearing to be just and equal, the said report is in all respects confirmed and it is as further stated that the said report be enrolled and that the Clerk of this Court certify the same that it may be registered in the registers office of this county. And it appearing in said report that the commissioners have charged the more valuable dividends with Certain sums to be paid to the dividends of inferior value respectively for equality of partition as follows, that is to say: The share allotted to John Tesh and wife with the sum of $46.25 in favor of the share of Richard I. Cecil; the share of Smuel Tesh and wife with the sum of $ 46.25 in favor of the share of Richard I. Cecil; and the share allotted to the heirs of David Ader, to wit, Cecil and Flora Ann Ader with the sum of $31.25 in favor of the share of Richard I. Cecil, it is ordered and adjusted that the said several sums with interest thereon from this term be paid out of the said several shares upon which they are respectively charged in said report, to the said Richard I. Cecil
It is further ordered that writs of venditions expenses be issued by the clerk of this court accordingly as to the said sums of money against the shares charged as aforesaid: It is further ordered that the cost of the suit be taxed by the clerk of this court be paid by the parties in proportion to their respective interest in said lands divided, that is to say Richard I. Cecil 5/8 ths., John Tesh and wife 1/8 th., Samuel Tesh and wife 1/8 th., and the share of David Ader's heirs 1/8 th. and that execution issue accordingly.
It is further ordered that this order be enrolled.
State of North Carolina--To the sheriff of Davidson County, Greetings ! On motion--
It is ordered by the Court that John Hussey, James Payne, Charles Hoover, Andrew Koontz, and George Zimmerman be appointed Commissioners to divide the lands of Adam Ader, deceased, described in the petition into 8 equal parts or shares and allot and set apart by miles and bounds, five of these shares to Richard I. Cecil, the purchaser thereof, one of said shares to Samuel Tesh and wife, one share of said share to Cecil and Flora Ann Aders and John Tesh and wife one share and if an equal division cannot otherwise be effected, then they are to charge the more valuable dividend or dividends with such sum or sums as they shall judge necessary, to be paid to the dividend or dividends of inferior value, in order to make the division equal. A majority of the said commissioners are to have power to act, said commissioners before they precede to the execution of this order, are to be duly sworn by the sheriff or some Justice of Peace of Davidson County, and they are to report their proceedings under their hands and seals to the next term of this court.
Herein fail not and have you then and there this writ, Witness, C.F. Sove, clerk of said court at office the 2 monday of Nov. 1856.

Peter Ader and others against Samuel Tesh and others
It appearing to the Court that publication for the Non residents defendants John Tesh and wife have been made for Six weeks in the Lexington ----------, they failing to appear at the term and plead answer or declare to the petitioners judgement for commissioners is therefore granted as to them the Court set for hearings, also that writ of subpoena has been clearly served on the defendants Samuel Tesh and wife -------- has failed to answer therefore the same order is made as to them and There cause comes on to be heard, on motion of Counsel it is ordered by the Court that John Hussey, James Payne, Charles Hoover, Andrew Coontz and George Zimmerman be appointed commissioners to divide the lands of Adam Ader, deceased described in the petition into eight equal parts or shares and allot and set apart by ----channels five of these shares to Richard I. Cecil the purchaser thereof one of the said shares to Samuel Tesh and wife one of the said shares to John Tesh and wife and one share to Cecil and Flora Ann the heirs of David Ader and if an equal division cannot otherwise be effected then they are to charge the more valuable dividend or dividends with such sum or sums as they make think necessary to be paid to the dividends of inferior value to make the divisions equal. A majority of said commissioners after being duly sworn by the sheriff are to have -------- to wit, and they are to make report of said Proceedings to next term of this court and a copy of this to be delivered to this court.

Lands of Adam Ader deceased, widow had dower, she died--and Ader died 16 years since living on Reedy Creek adjoining Sam'l Ceacl, Philip Ripple and others containing 40 acres.
Publication to be made in Feb. Courts as to John Tesh is in Iowa.
State of North Carolina--Davidson County--Court of Pleas , Quarter Session-Aug. Term 1856
To the Worshipful the Justice of said Court
The petition of Peter Ader, Joseph Perrell and Elizabeth his wife, Samuel Bird and --------- his wife and John Ader, Jacob Ader, Ciciso Ader and Flora Ader, infants who----- by their next friend Jesse Mock and Richard I. Cecil against Samuel Tesh and John Tesh and wife, respectively show unto your worship that since sixteen years since one Adam Ader died intestate in said County seized and possessed of about 400 acres of land situated in said county on the waters of Reedy Creek adjoining the lands of Samuel Cecil, Philip Ripple, and others; which land descended to your petitioner and the aforesaid defendants John Tesh and his wife, Solomon Ader who sold his right to the plaintiff Richard I. Cecil, subject to his widows dower.
Your petitioner would further show that the intestate Adam Ader at his death left surviving him a widow--------who had dower laid off and allotted to her, herself in said land that the widow aforesaid died recently her dower thereby becomes extra published the right to the issue ----- possession there off vested in the aforesaid petition and defendants as tennants cour---- mon--- your petitioner would further show that the other aforesaid defendants were entitled to the following house in the following manner, to wit; Peter Ader, John Ader, Jacob Ader, Joseph Perrell in right of his wife Elizabeth and John Tesh in right of his wife and Samuel Bird and wife are each entitled to one eight part of said lands as children and heirs at law of said Intestate. That Cecero Ader and Flora Ader are the children of David Ader deceased who was a son of the in testator and thereby entitled to one eight part and that the plaintiff Richard I. Cecil acquired by purchase from Peter Ader, Joseph Percell and wife, Elizabeth, Sam Bird and wife, Jacob Ader, Solomon Ader, children of the in testator a right to 5/8 parts of said land. Your petitioner further shows that they desire to hold and enjoy there share of said lands in severally and to that end pray your worship to appoint five commissioners to divide said lands into eight equal parts, five for Richard I. Cecil, one for Samuel Tesh, one for John Tesh, by proper---- and bounds and to allot and set apart to the respective parties each their respective share and if and equal division cannot otherwise be effected then and in that case to charge the more valuable dividend or dividends with such sum or sums of money as they shall judge necessary to be paid to the dividend or dividends of inferior value in order to make the division equal and to report their Proceedings under hands and seals to the next term of Court.
Your petitioner would further show that the defendants John Tesh and wife are not inhabitants of this state and would pray for publication to be made for them appear at next term of this court to ---------answer and that the states writ of subpoena with a copy of their petition issue to the defendants Samuel Tesh, and that all such other---- ---- may issue as the nature of the case may require in the ----- and in duty bound show ---- pray and ----.
