Tom,
My name is Gary and I am searching Dyer's in Ross Co. Ohio. Two of the Dyer womwn married Ater's. Martha Jane Dyer married Jacob Ater. Mary Elizabeth Dyer married James Ater on 27 June 1859 in Ross Co. Mary was born in or about 1833.
James & Mary had 6 children: Joseph b 1854, Jacob F. b 1857,
Minos b 1863, Mary b 1866, Newton b 1867, and James W. b 1868. I don't know whether any of this will help you, but I was nosing through the Ater message board when I ran across your posting, so I thought I'd write. Hope this helps.
