I am trying to find William Riley Atchison's parents. birth date as found 11 Feb 1830 Indiana - death date as found 16 Mar 1904 Clay Co., Illinois. 1880 census says his parents were from N.C. ??Possible father - James b. 1805 Rowan, N.C. - d. 1863 Lawrence Co., IN.??
Riley lived with his wife & children (Rebecca J. - b. 1857/58, James H. - b. 1859/60, twins - George W. & Lincoln A. - b. Jul 1861, 2nd set of twins Sarah E. & Lancaster/Lankford? - b. 1864, Cynthia M. - b. 1866). He is listed in Clay Co. in 1860, 1870, 1880 census. Married Catherine Fields (b. 16 Feb 1831 Lawrence, IN), marriage date 27 Sept 1855 in Clay Co. Though his wife is listed on 1870 & 1880 as Rebecca Ann, she is the same age as Catherine. Cannot find information on any divorce & remarriage. Clay County clerk's office does not have the book with the official marriage certificate, nor do they have a death certificate for him. He must have died in or close to Clay Co.

Lincoln's son - James Riley b. Oct 1886 Illinois - d. 14 Dec 1946 Decatur, Illinois.
James Riley's son - Alva Loren b. 7 Apr 1928 Decatur, Illinois? - d. 31 Aug 01 Wayne, Co., Fairfield, Illinois.
