I have 6 original studio photographs of Atchison ancestors, which I would like to get back to family members. Photos were taken in Atlanta & Lincoln (Logan Co.) IL in as early as 1885, and go to about 1915 (based on the types of photos and ages of these people I have found in census records).
1 – “Charles H. Atchison – son of G. W. and Mary Ann” – Cabinet Card taken Atlanta, IL about 1885. Looks about age 20-25.
2 – “Charles, Nettie & Paul Atchison” – Cabinet Card taken Lincoln, IL, about 1895. Parents look to be about 30-32 and Paul looks about 3.
3 – “Pauline E. <Lina> - dau. of G. W. and Mary Ann Atchison” – Cabinet Card taken Lincoln about 1885-90. She looks about age 35.
4 – “Paul & Carl Atchison, sons of Chas. H. & Nettie F.” – Photo taken Atlanta about 1900-01. Paul looks about 10 and Carl age 3.
5 – “Jud” Atchison, photo taken about 1905-10. About age 30.
6 – Photo of nine women and a little girl, on porch steps, identified as “taken at Otto Tuttle’s”. Names are: “Nellie Ruth Atchison, Mrs. Alice Davies, Mrs. Ivy Hoblit, Nettie Atchison, Mrs. Anna Tuttle, Miss Addie Scott, Mrs. Leola Miller, Mrs. Hattie McClure, Miss Alice Tuttle, Miriam B. Kenyon”. Taken about 1915, give or take a few years.
I found in the 1870 census Atlanta Twp. (Logan Co.) IL the family of G. W. Atchison. He was age 36, born KY, with wife Mary, age 33. Children were: Paulina (12), Scott (10), Charles (8), Hannah (5), Asa R. (boy, 2) and Frank (2).
I found Ivy Tuttle (born 1861), and Alice Tuttle (1862) in the 1880 census for Atlanta, IL, stepdaughters of Thoseus D. & Emma Tuttle. Note that Ivy Hoblit and Alice Tuttle are in the group photo.
In the 1900 census for Oran (Logan Co.), IL, I found Charles H., birth Feb 1862, married to wife Nettie, born Jan 1865. Children were Paul (Jan, 1893) and Carl (Nov, 1898).
Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are related to any of these Atchisons from Logan Co., IL.
