I don't know if this info is relevant. My gg grandmother was Martha Underwood ( born Martha Astle in Barrow, Cheshire in 1828). Her parents were James Astle and Mary Butler, her maternal grandfather was called Samuel Butler. When I saw the name Samuel Butler Astle in your message I just wondered if there was any link?
