Hi Casey and Mandy I am an Astbury descndant from the Staffordshire area of England. They were potters associated with the Wedgewood family and you will see some fine Astbury china in museums these days, very valuable. keep your eye out for it. My particular ancestors came from the town of Stone which is not too far from Stoke on Trent in Staffordshire. They were yeomen farmers and inn keepers, grain and livestock dealers. There is also a town in England called Astbury. It means East Fort in the Norman language. They came from Normandy with William the Conqueror, and were given lands in the midlands of England. (Rondle D'Estebury is in there somewhere. Stone records certainly go back to the 1600s with a gap during the days of Cromwell and then back to the 1400s. I certainly hvae a lot of records of Astburys if you want to let me know what you have, as far back as possible. regards Marg O'Leary mol@nelsonbay.com Notify Administrator about this message?
