I have a Louis Asselin who died at Ste. Famille, Ile D'Orleans, Quebec on July 7, 1831 at age 86. Might be the father or grandfather of person you are seeking.
If it's any help, Louis married Louise Paquet on February 20, 1775 in same parish.
I know of only one child so far, Marie Victoire Asselin who was born in 1789 or 1780. She died on January 1, 1832 in Ste Elizabeth parish, Berthier, Quebec.
If I find any more will let you know.
Victoire Asselin is one of my ancestors so i will be tracking her family further in the coming months.
