Have been waiting for someone to pop in here. What I have found is that many were from Quebec and removed to Marlboro, MA. Some records give the spelling as Aslin, Aslen. I made two trip to Marlboro (Marlborough) attempting to find the answers. Searched half a day looking in St. Marys church burial grounds and found the answer. It is Asselin. I have a scanned picture of it. If interested let me know via e-mail and I will send on to you. The sad part of my visit was the past priests kept all records in their head. There are no church records going that far back. You just have to walk the burial grounds and hope.
