I found a Rupert Asplund in with some original documents regarding his son Richard David Asplund. The family seems to go like this: Rupert the son of John and Anna (Aune) Asplund was born 31 Jan 1889 and died in July 1965. Rupert married to Lynda Lousie (Strickler). Their son David Richard married 22 Sept 1977 Gladys Maryann Johnson and had at least one daughter. David died July 4 2011 in Duluth, MN. If you have questions, contact me directly jorib@comcast.net.
