Hi Sid
I am from the descendents of Bloomfield also. David Jackson Aslin is my great grandfather and Thomas my great great and our common ancestor. The original Aslin was David Asselin that landed in Virginia before 1750 from London. Originally this family was from Normandy and moved to England in 1686 to avoid religious persecution (Huguenots in a Catholic country). I am proposing that the name was Ancel or Ansell in Scandinavia before the migration to the banks of the Seine in France. Regards, Howard
