Hello All,
I may have another piece of the puzzle to solve the Aslin questions. I am a descendant of Alford Knott through his son Wm. Green Knott. Alford was married to Nancy Aslin and came to Gibson County, TN from NC as Nita Raybourn stated. She also says Nancy had a brother named Thomas Aslin. I have a note in my files stating that "Thomas Aslin and wife Martha Barham came to Gibson County by 1835." I'm not sure where I got that information but it sure fits in. I'll try to see if I can find my source. I also have some NC census records with Aslins in them. I will look through them tonight for clues. Does any of this help? I will get back to you soon!
