Was the Docia Askins who married George Crawford 5 Feb 1866 in Fayette Co. IL, the widow of Jonathan Askins? There is a marriage of Jonathan Askins to Addocia Hill in Shelby Co. 24 Jun 1844, but I cannot find either of them in 1850. However, in 1860 there is a Dica [sic?] Askins age 40 b NC living in Effingham Co. IL with children Elizabeth Askins 13 IL and Thomas Askins 10 IL, which I think must be Addocia, widowed. After the 1866 marriage of Docia Askins to George Crawford, I cannot find either of them again. If anyone can provide any information or suggestions, I would appreciate it.
