Linda, I must really apologize to you. For some reason, I didn't get the auto notice that someone had replied to me. I just happen to see your response tonight, from 4 months ago. I am really sorry.

Can you give me dates of birth of your grandfather, Charles M. Askins, and his sister, Ally Faye. The "original" or "first" Askins that was found on the 1835 Tenaha Tx census was Charles M. Askins Sr. He was a widow and brought some children with him from TN or KY. He remarried and had a second family. Most of that second family went to Atascosa County, south Texas. I'm descended from the first family, and I believe I've seen Ally Faye's name somewhere connected with the second family.

With the dates, maybe I'll be able to determine which Charles you're referring to.

Thanks,
Sandra Van Wyk

Are you saying that Ally Faye was an Askins and married an Askins?
