It is interesting that you have mentioned an ancestor that moved to the Kalamazoo area. I have several ancestors who lived in this area. I have also run across one whom lived in the BattleCreek, Michigan area.
My granmother's maiden name was Lura B. Askin. Her mothers name was Sarah H. Askins. Sarah had several siblings, Mary was one of the names. I have more info if you are interested.
