I have obtained more information since my earlier posting of Askins in Canada. That information is as follows. Grandmother: Lura B. Askin/Ives/Thompson GreatGrandfather: John Henry Askin GreatGrandmother: Sarah Hannah Askins (maiden name) John H. and Sarah H. were first cousins Parents of John Henry Askin: Father: George Askin Mother: Jane Campbell Parents of Sarah Hannah Askins: Father: Ebenezer Askins Mother: Louisa Wyman From an obituary posted into one of these forums by Ivah Clarke information was gained detailing at least the mother of Ebenezer to be the son of a Mrs. N. Hill in Ontario, Canada. My Aunt is the one who told me that Sarah H. and John H. Askin were first cousins. So that would make George and Ebenezer brothers. Which coincides with a census poll of early Woodstock, Ontario that states George and Ebenezer lived on Dundas St. However the poll did not give the ages of the 3 Askin males who lived on that street. Nor did it give there relationship to each other. The 3rd Askin male who lived on that street was John B. Askin. It would be appreciated if anyone has any further information concerning these 3 males it would help me considerably. Such as were George and Ebenezer the sons of John B. Askin that lived on the Same Street? George moved into the Kalamazoo, Michigan area after his children were born. Ebenezer also moved into the Kalamzoo,Michigan area where the last 2 children of his were born. Somewhere between 1837 and 1840. George and Jane Campbell had maybe 5 or 6 children. Ebenezer had 5 or 6 children also. Thank you in advance for any information that you might be able to give me in this matter. Mark Askin Notify Administrator about this message?
