Hello, Ron-- I am looking for a possible ASKIN connection in Monroe Co., NY. In my research this past weekend for the family of my GGGrandmother, NANCY HUFF (b. 1845 in NY, m. BERKLEY HUFF,b. 1834 in NY), I found in the NY Census of 1880 that her parents were born in Ireland. I reviewed a Chili, Monroe Co., NY Directory of 1865 & found the only family in that town from Ireland was the GEORGE ASKIN family of Scottsville, NY, a retired farmer, born in County Mayo, Ireland. He had been in the area since 1826. Does any know if GEORGE ASKIN had a daughter named NANCY? I am trying to determine NANCY's surname & family. BERKLEY & NANCY HUFF had 3 surviving children: RACHEL ELIZABETH ("LIBBIE")HUFF CARSON, b. 9/1864, MYRTLE HUFF (poss.GULICK), b. 1867, & MAGGIE HUFF (b. 1874). RACHEL is my GGrandmother. Any insight you can give would be appreciated! Blessings, MaryEllen Carson Notify Administrator about this message?
