My grandmother's maiden name was Lura B. Askin. She was born on march 29,1881 in Kalamazoo county, Kalamazoo city, Michigan.
Her parents were John and Sarah Askin. Lura Belle Askin first married a Myrl Ives whom she later divorced. She then married a widower, Eliphalet Webster Thompson. Any Information concerning Lura Belle or her parents John H. Askins or Sarah H. Askins would be appreciated. It is believed that this side of the Askin family originated in Canada. The name was "americanized" from Erskine, or so I have been told.
