Francis Marion Ashworth was married first to Elizabeth Howeth 17 May 1860 in Angelina Co., Texas. I do not know if Elizabeth died or what, but F.M. Ashworth eventually joined with the Confederate Army (a calvary unit) and ended up in Arkansas. After mustering out, Francis Marion Ashworth married second Harriet (Adeline or Angeline) Smith 24 May 1867 in Washington Co., Arkansas. Francis was also able to get his father, Andrew Ashworth to move from Angelina Co., Texas to Washington Co., Arkansas. Whether or not Andrew's first wife, Nancy made the trek to Arkansas with him and then died is at this point not able to be determined. At any rate, Andrew Ashworth married second, Celia Butler on 31 December 1868 in Washington Co., Arkansas. --- My query is to find someone who descends from Francis Marion Ashworth and his wife, Harriet. Their children were: (1.) Harriet Caroline Elizabeth Ashworth b.abt 1868 and she married H.B. Morrison 16 Feb 1887 in Washington Co., Arkansas. (2.) John A. Ashworth b.abt 1871 who was killed in August of 1904 (3.) James Francis Ashworth b.Jan. 1874. --- Any one descending from Francis Marion Ashworth or if you have historical data concerning this family, I would appreciate hearing from you. I have copies of the newspaper obituaries given for Francis Marion Ashworth and his wife, Harriet, as well as one for the old grandfather, Andrew Ashworth who had married Celia Butler.
