Hi Amy
You may have heard of me already via Betty Evans as I've had a lot of e-mail correspondence with her recently. I am descended from Hester Leah Ash, another child of William Ash and Sarah Smart. She was christened in Chippenham, England, in 1830 and married William Rice Stevenson in Charlton, Kent, England in 1857. Their daughter Alice Mary Ann Stevenson is my grat-grandmother. I'm afraid I have no idea what happened to George, Elizabeth or Harriet. George witnessed the marriage of his sister Hester in 1857 so was in London at that time.
I have the 1881 census index for the whole of England and have found Hester's brothers Samuel and William on that, as well as sisters Eleanor and Mary.
