Dear Michael, thanks for your message. My details of my Ashdowns are very few, I don't actually know of any children of Francis and his second wife, but they would most likely have had some, as Francis only (I believe)had the one child (Elizabeth) from his first marriage. So, unfortunately, your James rings no bells for me but if I find anything relevant to you in the future I will be sure to pass it on. Always a possibility, just hard to determine!
