I have a Francis Ashdown, who lived in Brenchley in Kent, England. He married sometime before 1747, which is the year his wife, Elizabeth Joy, died (in September). Their daughter Elizabeth was born September 1747 in Brenchley. She married John Manwaring in 1767 in Brenchley.
Francis remarried to Jane Austen.

Any info much appreciated
