Dear Renee,

I have been speaking to my aunt, who has contacted her cousin. She confirms that the George Ashdown in my tree was a whaler. She has a book on George and his friends and the business they started. She confirms that the Maori lady he married was Raukataari, and is not sure where the other names come from. I am hoping to catch up with my aunt's cousin soon (she lives 5 hours away) some time this month. She has documentation, such as Raukataari's will etc.
