I am looking for someone who has provable documentation on Captain Thomas Ashby and his wife:
Information I used was from "The Ashby Book" Revised 1982, Fleming Reese, M.A. ISB 0-9604372-2. Reese spent 14 years researching Thomas Ashby. The only name she provided was Thomas Ashby and that he was a captain. Some have listed him as Thomas John Ashby and some as Thomas Edward Ashby, but those names are not in the aforementioned book. Also, She could find no other name for his wife Rose, nor could she fine any proof for the parents of Captain Thomas Ashby. The compiler of the book says, "Some sources have contended that Thomas Ashby married a Frances WOODRUFF. Another claimed that Rose's name was MONCURE, and still another that her name was FARROW. Compiler has proved none so far. In the will of Thomas(1) Ashby he specifically states that Stephen's mother was Rose. How many children belonged to which wife is uncertain except for Stephen (2), and maybe Ann(2) Ashby," Note: in the 1982 revision she only shows Rose _______. Pages 1 and 10i. 10i was a revision of page 1.
