Hi John:

Please feel free to email me. Actually, I have found a reference that is making me go with the (Anna) Barbara Steiner and John George Ashbaugh as Elizabeth's parents.

Apparently there is a book called "Births and Baptisms 1782-1815 Reformed" by a Rev. John Weber. It is supposed to be in German, but translated for one researcher. Available in Westmoreland County, PA.

It states that Elizabeth was christened on May 31, 1801, and parents were John George Esbaugh and Barbara. Sponsors Adam Steiner and Margaretta. This fits, since Adam Steiner did have a sister named Barbara or Anna Barbara.

I find it of interest that Elizabeth's tombstone in Armstrong County gives her birthdate in 1798. However, I know that often tombstone dates are wrong!

Til later!
