I am having the same problem. The situation with Elizabeth Ashbaugh has become of more interest to me because of recent mtDNA testing (this is my maternal line).

Were her parents Daniel Ashbaugh and Veronica (Faronica) Likes?

Or John George Ashbaugh and Barbara Steiner?

There are good researchers on both sides, and I am struggling because I would LIKE Elizabeth's parents to be the Daniel/Faronica group because I know who Faronica's parents were, and can trace them to Gatten in Europe.

But there is a christening reference to an Elizabeth, born at the right time, and it states that John and Barbara were parents, with Adam Ashbaugh as a sponsor. Fits in...

Anybody help here? If there were more mtDNA sources on the Steiner and Likes ends, might solve problem.

I will say that my own mtDNA is in a group that puts ancestry in Scandinavia, so leans to the Faronica solution.

Any help here??
