I happened to be searching on the web with Google and stumled onto your posting.
I think the Ruth Ashbaugh you're asking about was my great aunt. She was living in Kent, PA at the time I met her as a child.
Her father was my great grandfather, whose first name I don't know. One of his sons, my grandfather, was Joseph Ashbaugh, who lived in the Finger Lakes region of New York. His son, my father, is Richard R. Ashbaugh, who lived in the Rochester, New York area at the time I saw my great aunt Ruth (my father is now in the Concord, New Hampshire area).
My father can give you a lot more detail and genealogical information than I. I'll let him know of your inquiry and ask if it's all right that I forward his email address to you.
