John D. Ashbaugh of 543 More information about John Wesley Ashbaugh His father was Andrew Ashbaugh born December 27, 1827 in Adams County, PA. His motherwas Emeline Arter born in Richland County, Ohio. Andrew came to Richland County, Ohio some time before 1850 when he appeared in the 1850 census. He was then living together with a John Ashbaugh who was a couple of years younger than he. It is thought he could be a brother. Andrew is known to have an older sister who lived in Crestland< ohio and later lived with Andrew in later years. The name Andrew's father is uncertain but the most likely candidate seems to be William Ashbaugh, son of Andreas Ashbaugh, Son of Johan Heinrich (Henry) Ashbaugh.
