The below obit came from The Courier-Journal, Louisville, KY, dated 5 Nov 00: Charlene Brown, 72, of Shepherdsville (KY) died Friday at her home. She was the former Charlene ASHBAUGH, a native of Nelson County, a retired packer for General Shale, where she worked 25 years, and a member of American Legion Post 157 Ladies Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5710 Ladies Auxiliary and First Baptist Church in Shepherdsville. Survivors: daughters Wanda Devine, Deborah Carrier, Vickie L. Hilliard, Jeanie Obsorne, Karen Hobbs and Joan and Sheila Brown; sons James E. Jr. Bob and Maurice Brown; sisters Mildred Stewart and Rosie Berry; brothers Dallas and Thurston Ashbaugh; 24 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Funeral: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Hardy-Close, Shepherdsville. Burial: Riverview Cemetery, Coxs Creek. Visitation: 2-9 p.m. Sunday 9:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m. Monday and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday.
