I'm so happy this information was helpful! I am interested in your Ashpaugh findings. The specific one I'm looking for is a John Ashpaugh married to a Hester. I believe her name was probably Page. If so they were married in 1814 in Butler Co., OH. They were in Parke Co. IN around the 30's and 40's, then moved to Iowa and were in Keokuk Co. in 50, 60, and 70. I'd like to find estate records for them but don't know where to look. There were no death or cemetery records found in Keokuk. I have run across the name Smiley-a Jacob Ashpaugh married a Smiley in Butler Co. about the same time as John and Hester's marriage. Are they connected? Any help appreciated.
