Carolyn,
I have a "LOT" of data of the Adam Ash(Esch) family, but I have not run across the name Shimer at all. I have 11 children listed with the possibility that 2 more exist, but without documentation. Of the 11, I have 6 males and 5 females. Of the 5 females, I have Eve who married Jacob Gain; Elizabeth who married Jacob Coon; Mary, who married John Gain; Catherine who married John Wilson; and Margaret who married William Tucker. What documentation do you have of a female marring a Michael Shimer? The oldest child of Adam and Catherine was Christopher (that is my line) and he was born approximately 1770. I don't know how any of his children could have married in 1750s or 60s. Perhaps this was a child of one of Adams brothers. Let me know if you have more details. Thanks, Mary
