William Ash/Jane Flemming, SC, GA

I have good documentation from the Rev. War through his death in 1831. I am looking for something to tie this William Ash (abt. 1757-1831) to his ancestors in the Canden/York District, SC or in PA where he may have been born. I have been told that his parents are John Ash and Isabel Patterson, but I am looking for a source for that information. Can any of you Ash researchers point me in the right direction?
