I too search for information on a John Ash and his family from Nelson Co., KY. I have a John Ash married to Arabella ANDERSON (a widow) as early as 1787. I believe this is the same family as your's. The John Ash I seek was deceased before 1800 and Arabella, his wife, married a 3rd time to John Sturgeon. John Ash signed on marriage bonds for Arabella's children, Sarah, Alsey, Patience as their stepfather. I believe Reuben was his son and probably the Reuben Ash that was captured by Indians.
Do you think we have a match? I am most interested in any information on this family and especially Arabella, his wife. Jean Smallwood
