He is probably a descendant of Johan Wilhelmus Esch/ John William Ash, who died 1796, Half Moon, Saratoga Co., NY and Elizabeth Dop. Their sons were Peter, Wm., John, & David. Daughters; Gertrude,Maria, & Eva. I have more information and know one of sons went to Wis. William was a brother of my Adam Ash, Harrison Co., WV and another brother Henry Ash of Washington Co., MD. There is also some information on Wm. in "Settlers Of The Beekman Patent, Vol 2" by Frank Doherty.
