Hello Phil:
Your Daniel Ash was born about 1829 & was a son of Andrew & Elizabeth Gillum Ash. Daniel was a brother to my g grandfather Thomas Ash that married Josephine Corvin. Thomas lived just off the Olive Hill/Vanceburg exit of I-64 & can see the Ash-Qualls cemetery from there. Andrew was from Scott Co., Virginia & about 1861 came to Lewis Co., Kentucky for a short while then was in Carter county by 1870. Andrew Ash was born 1804 & died after 1883& was in the 1880 census of Carter county. His father was Daniel Ash born about 1775/80 & died before 1830. His mother was Susan & have not found her maiden name as yet but suspect it was a Pridemore. Susan was in the 1830 census of Scott Co., Virginia as head of househould. Andrew had a brother named Daniel born 1809 that went to Benton Co., Arkansas.
