Have several similarities in my line. My ancestor, Riley Fletcher ASH, b. 2/23/1866. His father was Jesse Ray ASH who was born in NC in 1826 and who married Elizabeth Ann LONG (Nov 1863) reportedly from Blue Ridge GA (which is in the county next to Union County). Interesting that you're looking up ASH's from NC, who married into the LONG family of extreme north Georgia, and that the name "Fletcher" keeps popping up.
Do you think that Jesse Ray ASH and Nelson Damon ASH may have been related?
Also, I have one source that says Riley Fletcher ASH had come to Georgia from Yell County AR.
