Hello, Looking for more info. on my ASH line. Rev. Nelson Damon ASH born Oct. 11, 1831 Hatwood Co. NC died Nov. 10, 1917 Yell Co. AR. He married Nancy Emaline LONG Oct. 14, 1852 in Union Co. GA. Served in The GA CSA and drew his pension in AR. He was the founder of the Oak Grove Methodist Church in Yell Co. AR. He and his family are buried in the private cemetery there. There is also an old ASH Homested not too far from the church where they lived. Nelson and Nancy had eight (8) children: (1)Martha Elizabeth born Jan. 19, 1854 died 1887, (2)John Fletcher b.Oct. 26, 1855 d. Jan 13, 1925, (3)Mary Jane b.March 11, 1858 d.April 1937, (4) Ellen Josephine b.May 3,1860 d. Jan. 26, 1894, (5) Dr. Rev. William Wesley b. abt. 1862 d. April 7, 1932, (6)Margaret Lucinda b. March 18, 1868 d. Dec. 28, 1914, (7) Lela Mae b. Feb. 22,1871 d.Oct. 2, 1871, (8) Susan Belle b. Nov. 26, 1972 d. May 26, 1955.
I am decended from Susan Belle ASH, she married John Henry LONG.
